Manistique Lakes Area Events

2008 Walleye Jamboree Rules, May 23, 24, 25 2008

1. Fish must be caught from either Big Manistique Lake or South Manistique Lake.

2. Three fish may be weighed-in per day but only one can be over 22 inches. All 3 may be under 22 inches, but only 1 can be over per day.

3. Fish must be brought to weigh-in site in good condition. Winner will be determined by accumulation of the heaviest walleyes caught throughout the tournment, not to exceed 9 walleyes. You may weigh in fish more than once daily but only 3 walleye per day will be recorded per day, per contestant. In case of a tie, the length will determine the winner. In case of another tie, the time the fish was weighed-in will be the next tie breaker. Daily prizes for pike, perch and walleye will be determined by heaviest fish caught of each species. Same tie breaker as mentioned above. Only one prize per entrant, per day.

4. All persons in boat must be registered in contest. You may be asked to show proof of registration on the lake, at weigh in and at Awards Dinner. Anyone not abiding by these rules will be disqualified. NO REFUNDS GIVEN.

5. Final decisions will be up to the judges. Anyone who brings in a fish tampered with will be disqualified.

6. Fishermen in this contest must observe all Michigan Fishing regulations and good sportsmanship. No restrictions on legal bait.

7. Contest will begin Thursday at midnight and will end promptly at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25th. Anyone starting at midnight Thursday must be registered Thursday. Everyone must be registered before they fish. Weigh-In times are Friday and Saturday mornings 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All persons in tent with fish when weigh-in closes will have their fish weighed and entered. Tent closes Promptly at 11 a.m. Fri. & Sat. and 10 p.m. Fri. & Sat. and Sun. at 4 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS.

8. Daily prizes will be awarded at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at the Awards Dinner Sunday, May 25th at the Interlaken Lodge along with the rest of the prizes. Steak dinner will be provided FREE to the contestants. A fee of $20.00 will be charged for non-entrants and they will be entered for door prizes. Call 906-586-3966 for any questions. CHILDREN’S CONTEST RULES

All adult rules apply for the children’s contest as well, except for the following revised rules:

1. ANYONE ENTERING CHILDRENS CONTEST IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR GRAND PRIZE.

2. MUST BE 14 YEARS OLD AND YOUNGER TO ENTER.

3. ENTRY FEE IS $10.00 PER CHILD.

4. ALL CHILDREN MUST HAVE AN ADULT IN THE BOAT WITH THEM WHEN THEY ARE FISHING.
( All people in the boat must be registered in the contest.)

5. STEAK DINNER WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FREE TO CHILD CONTESTANTS.
( A fee of $20.00 will be charged for steak dinners, $5.00 for hot dog dinners.)

Tickets for Dinners will be sold at the Sunday Awards Banquet. No Pre-registration required for children.
